REAL WOODEN KEYBOARD
KAWAI researchers understand that a responsive, tactile keyboard is essential for a
truly satisfying playing experience. With this in mind, all black and white keys of the
CA18 are crafted entirely from wood, allowing the weight of each key to accurately
represent that of a concert grand piano.
The AWA Grand PRO II design incorporates additional grand piano action
characteristics, such as contrasting hammer weights - appropriately graded for each
playing range, bass key counter-balancing and correctly located pivot points,
providing a consistent, evenly balanced touch that satisfies the demands of even the
most discerning pianist.
88-KEY PIANO SAMPLING
The CA18 captures the beautiful sound of KAWAI’s highly acclaimed hand-built
concert grand piano, with all 88 keys of this exceptional instrument meticulously
recorded, analysed, and faithfully reproduced using proprietary Harmonic Imaging™
technology. This unique process accurately recreates the broad dynamic range of the
original piano, while also providing the source for a selection of additional
high-quality instrument sounds. Finally, reverb and damper effects are applied,
delivering rich tones with breathtaking realism and authenticity.
HIGH FIDELITY SPEAKER SYSTEM
The CA18 features two full-range speakers mounted discretely below the keybed,
with two additional high-frequency tweeters offering greater clarity from the player’s
perspective. The four speakers combine, providing deep, rich bass tones and crisp
clear treble frequencies, for an exceptionally vivid musical experience.
