That is what I am doing, but the display just shows the message I posted above.
I have made sure the memory stick is formatted as FAT32 and tried more than one memory stick.

you are using a different update method.
You started the update via MIDI Input.
But you need to start the update via USB memory. That uses a different procedure.
Please follow the manual, it is correct.
Please do not mix up between the registration numbering and the 3 buttons directly under the display..

Thank you Michael. I have now updated the piano's firmware.
The instruction pdf included in the firmware download is a little confusing in section 3. That was causing me press the 1, 2 & 3 buttons directly under the display. Your help and a quick re-read of the owner's manual solved my problem.
For anyone else facing the same issue, the buttons in the attachment are those you need to press while you power on with the memory stick containing the new firmware inserted into the USB port.
